Early this morning, the ground was covered in a light frost and the edges of the sky were tinged with a gorgeous pink glow. The almost full moon lit my journey to work, and the air felt bitingly cold. It was a quiet and still start to my day, just the way I like it.
I've had a hectic time of it, going back and forth. I often think I try and do too much, but then Tuesdays and Wednesdays are my busiest days. I get to catch my breath momentarily on a Thursday, before another full day on a Friday, to finish off my working week. I'm just always grateful I get to do something I enjoy :)
On my way home this evening, I noticed the Christmas tree all lit up on the village green. It looked rather lovely, and quite different to how it appears in the daylight, as is often the way.
This evening, I have baked some mincemeat slice ready to take along to the Warm Space later in the week. It smells delicious. I hope they will enjoy it.
Tonight, I have put another blanket on my bed.

Jules, Your space here is a comfy place to visit. I so enjoy catching up with you and seeing your cozy world.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a lovely thing to say. Thank you, Billie Jo. X
DeleteChilly days are my favorite this time of year, especially if they are also bright and sunny. Your cup of tea looks warm and cozy. What's your favorite tea to drink?
ReplyDeleteCold, bright days are far more preferable to dull and damp ones at this time of year, especially when you can warm through with a nice cup of tea. I'm very easy to please. Just an English Breakfast Tea, with a splash of milk and a little bit of sugar. X
DeleteMincemeat Slice sounds intriguing! Have you mentioned Warm Space before? I must have missed it, what is it?
ReplyDeleteMincemeat Slice is listed on my recipe page. It is like baking mince pies but without the faff :)
DeleteThe Warm Space I mentioned is a village initiative, which provides a place of warmth and community for people who would otherwise be alone, or who are struggling during the energy crisis. X
Lovely...another Country Living worthy photo!!! And well done to you for making the time to do something for others which is what the season is all really about. xx
ReplyDeleteIt is for a very worthy cause and keeps me out of mischief :)
DeleteIt's another cold one! I'm wearing a bobble hat indoors and am wrapped in a blanket.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you! I have a warm cat sat on my lap :)
DeleteThat's a good idea to put another blanket on your bed ... the weather has turned very chilly.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I don't like feeling cold. Xx
DeleteYour weather sounds much like ours...while it's not below freezing, the winds from the North are strong and make it feel much colder. That, paired with the lack of sunshine, just adds to the wintry feel. But that's okay...as you said, a warm cup of tea at day's end is so nice. Not that you need to share, or maybe I've missed it as a newer reader, have you told us what kind of work you do? It sounds as if the days are long and maybe the commute as well. As you say, it's always good to do something you enjoy, and it sounds like tomorrow is the day to catch your breath, do something just for you two!
ReplyDeleteWe are experiencing an extended period of cold weather just now. Several years ago when this happened, our central heating packed up! Though I think it is working okay now :)
DeleteMy commute is quite short but some of my days can be long. The reason I don't mention it much here is because I work in a school. Xx
That really is a beautiful photo which captures the season very nicely! Is that pinecone one of the items you and Lily made during the craft morning?
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes it is! We still haven't put the tree up. Xx
