Feeling Better

Although it was a restless night for me, Lily, at least, slept soundly throughout. And this morning, I am very relieved to say, she appeared a little more like her usual self. Another quick check of her temperature and I felt myself relax, realising that my worst fears were unfounded. She is still looking red in the  face but has, at least, eaten today, and she has been drinking plenty of water.

Overnight, we got a covering of snow. Usually, Lily would be so excited to go outside as soon as she could, but this morning she simply enjoyed looking at it through the window. She has spent the day resting, and I'm sure she will feel the benefit of another good night's sleep.

Today, I started writing my Christmas cards, and at Lily's request we have decorated the tree. I almost tied myself in knots trying to untangle the lights, but it is all looking quite lovely now.

  2. Glad to hear Lily much better. There are so many strange viruses going around at the moment. My granddaughter had a high temperature, felt dizzy, had a headache and then was sick last Tuesday/ Wednesday. OK now but this is the third time this year and the first time she ended up having a seizure with it - a bit worrying and we have to watch her closely now whenever she has a temperature. I haven't even started my cards yet! x

  3. That is a pretty snow scene, and that wild garlic pesto on your side bar looks a treat. I am decorating my tree bit by bit. My sons visited a Christmas tree farm and cut down a tree for me, bless their hearts.

    1. Lily has had another good night's sleep, at least. Unfortunately, I think the snow may have gone by the time she is feeling well enough to play. Xx

  5. Huge relief for you, and for your blogging friends, to know that Lily is feeling better.

I suspect you will watch her like a hawk for a few days more, but in the meantime, I hope you can enjoy today, maybe hunker down inside whilst you patiently explain to Boo that the newly decorated tree is NOT an early present in the shape of a feline climbing frame? 🐈‍⬛ 💚

    1. Considering the amount of children who have been quite poorly recently, I had been very concerned. Especially as it takes a lot to keep Lily down.
Also, I don't want to jinx things regarding the tree, but so far so good :)

  6. Glad to hear Lily is on the mend, it must have been such a concern with everything that's going around at the moment.

I always think once the lights are untangled, the worst is over, enjoy your tree.

    1. Thank you. There are so many germs flying around just now, that it is almost impossible to avoid catching something. I was just relieved that it turned out to be nothing serious. X

  10. I’m so glad your daughter is feeling better. We have several really worrying respiratory infections that have hospitalized many young children and babies here. In fact we have had to call in help at hospitals and transfer to other hospitals in other cities to handle the crisis. There is nothing so worrying as when your child is sick. I am enjoying your December blog posts, its helping me feel more Christmassy. Jean in Winnipeg.

    1. Thank you, Jean. There have been many cases of Scarlet Fever and also respiratory infections here, as well, so you can understand why I was so worried. Xx
