This morning we set out to complete the walk I had originally planned for last weekend. It was a cold bright start to the day and I was looking forward to spending even just a short time up on the fells.
Setting off from the village our route passed alongside a stream. The water looked incredibly clear but I imagine it would have been icy cold.
The wind picked up a little at this point but unsurprisingly this Herdy didn't appear to be concerned. I could use a warm jumper like that.
Climbing higher still, the ground beneath our feet became wintry and we pulled our scarves right up to protect from the icy chill. The freezing winds occasionally blowing snow across the fellside and making our faces glow. We didn't stay for long at the summit, just enough to be able to take in the views.
And for me to exact my revenge...

Beautiful - yet so dastardly and evil mwahahahaha! Was revenge sweet or ice cold as Lily retaliated! hahaha
ReplyDeleteShe accepted her fate :)
DeleteRvenge is easy with snowballs
ReplyDeleteI felt it was perfectly justified after last week. X
DeleteWell they say revenge is a dish best served cold and yours certainly would have been :-) Did she retaliate though?
ReplyDeleteHaha! Not this time. X
DeleteSuch lovely scenery! But, brr! Snow! Hope revenge was sweet! :D
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed. X
DeleteOh well done - both for getting a walk and getting a shot on your target (I suspect it was a moving target though!)
ReplyDeleteI naively thought I would be getting out this morning - the wind and rain have other ideas :-{
The target was still. I doubt I would have got a good shot at it otherwise. X
DeleteIt looks so cold and bleak and utterly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteA most satisfying snowball, I am sure.
xx
Very satisfying. I caught her completely unawares. X
DeleteIt looks beautiful up there but oh so cold :) I'm certain Lily wouldn't have taken a direct hit...or would she :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was bitterly cold, Eileen. It was a good job we were dressed for the conditions.
DeleteA direct hit never felt more satisfying. X
Blimey, it looks cold up there, but very beautiful. I'm sure Lily got her own back.
ReplyDeleteNot this time, disappointingly for her I expect. X
DeleteIt looks lovely on them fells, lovely but bloody cold! I am hoping that the revenge was executed with success and glee.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was freezing and so incredibly windy. Revenge was sweet. X
DeleteWOW,what amazing scenery. You are both very hardy to do that walk.thank you so much for sharing these amazing photos.Oooooh a snow fight, how brilliant bet it was fun, even if very brrrrr cold.Huggles xxx
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not hardy :) I do love the snow, though. It's the almost blow-you-off-your-feet winds that I can do without. X
DeleteWhat gorgeous scenery you have. Wow! The countryside is so pretty in England. And the snow, even if just a little, is gorgeous. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSeeing snow on the fells does feel wonderfully festive. X
DeleteAnd who did you exact revenge upon with that snowball?!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wintery pictures. Thank you for sharing x
She deserved it after last week. And my aim was pretty good, for once ;)
DeleteThat post gave me goosebumps. Not sure why.
ReplyDeleteFortunately, we were kept nice and cosy beneath our layers. X
DeleteOh...look! That sheep looks so sweet. I love her expression. Gorgeous coat.
ReplyDeleteA Herdy smile. X
DeleteBeautiful photographs, a pleasure to see.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thank you, Jan. X
