Birthday

Last week we celebrated Lily turning four years old. I can't begin to think how quickly this last year has gone by. She has changed and grown so much in this time and as each day that passed has seen her face new challenges, I am so incredibly proud of what she has managed to achieve.


Cards and gifts were opened in the morning, her favourites being a garden swing, books and some fabulous rainbow wellies. We just managed to put up the swing on the Saturday evening before it went dark, ready for her to discover the following morning. Her little face lit up when she saw it.  It was such a joy to see. I can see many happy hours spent on it this summer.



I made two cakes for the special day. One to take to share at pre-school that morning and one to enjoy at home. They were both deliciously chocolatey and covered in icing and other goodies.


Lily enjoyed a delightfully happy day and I can't wait to discover what adventures the coming year has in store for her.

    Happy birthday Lily. Looks as though you had an amazing day...have fun on that swing and don't be too cross with Mummy or Daddy if you find them using it...grown ups need to play too! x

    Happy birthday, Lily. What a lovely age, I'm so pleased that she enjoyed her day and got some lovely gifts. We're due some good weather this week so I'm sure the swing will get lots of use.

    Aww, how lovely! The chocolate cakes look delicious! I'm sure the other kids at pre-school enjoyed celebrating Lily's Birthday with a yummy treat! :)

    Four is such a lovely age - Happy Birthday Lily.
    The cake looks scrumptious I'm sure everyone enjoyed it.

    Oh, I'm late to this party Jules but it sounds asthough Lily had a lovely day. The cakes look delicious and I bet the swing has had plenty of use over the past week with the weather being so nice.

    I think this age is lovely - their personalities really start to shine through. xx

      She did have a lovely time, thank you Suzanne. The swing has had a lot of use already and the grass underneath looking a little worse for wear.
      It is a lovely age. However, the age when they are able to make you a cup of tea is even better. X :-)
