Time Out

The general chaos of the last week of term is fast approaching, so in an attempt to create some sense of equilibrium before the forthcoming onslaught of the year end party, sports day, pyjama day and graduation (yes, really!) we have been spending time doing what we love most - getting outdoors.
We've grasped at every opportunity to get out and about and enjoy the sunny days and have been rewarded with some beautiful places and gorgeous views.

Some days were planned for and others were on the spur of the moment ideas. Work and some other mundane aspects of daily life have been taking their toll lately so a change of scenery was just the tonic we needed.
We juggled work, finishing off some outside chores and pre-school, scrabbled picnics together at short notice and off we went.

I am trying really hard not to think about the state the house is in due to a lack of cleaning and tidying. I've been doing the bare minimum to see us through and it shows. Never mind, unless the housework fairies have been to call it will still be there waiting for me. I'm letting the dust settle, literally, because for now the sky is blue and the sea is warm and we're busy having fun.

  1. That is completely the right attitude to have. Our neighbour called hubby over and said' you're getting your money's worth out of that kayak' without moving his lips I replied 'you have to make hay while the sun shines' he he!Enjoy yourself I say!

    1. Thanks Tania. It is so important to enjoy the good weather when we have it. It's turning into quite a lovely Summer this year. Keep getting your money's worth out of that kayak while you can. X

  2. Let the dust wait Jules, far better to get out and about while you can. Smiling at the graduation day. Nothing like that for my two and although it all sounds a bit full on and unnecessary I actually love seeing photos of little ones in their caps and gowns - are Lily's pre-school doing that or is it just called graduation day? xx

    1. I'm a little ashamed to say the dust is still waiting Suzanne. Thank goodness we rarely get unannounced visitors. The graduation day is just a fun celebration of the children's achievements throughout the year. No caps and gowns, thank goodness, as I doubt very much that Lily would put those on! Lily got a certificate for making the staff smile every day. X

  5. My attitude too, the housework will get done eventually. With beautiful weather and scenery like that the housework can wait.

    1. The housework is still waiting Eileen and the dust is getting worse by the day. Although, if I'm outside I don't have to look at it! X

  8. The housework police only visit when Autumn closes in and we spend less time outside. In the Summer our fairies are very relaxed and try not to notice dust and debris! Instead the garden Sprites will us to work outside. x

  11. I heard the housework fairies went on vacation also because the sky is blue and there are more important, more joyful things to do. You live in a beautiful area. Enjoy it while the sun is shining.

  13. Hi Jules. Best leave the housework until winter. That way you can save money... dusting burns off calories and keeps you warm. You won't need the heating on then

  14. You've got the right idea ... the dust will wait, go out and enjoy the sunshine while it's here and make many happy and special memories ... they are simply priceless.

Lovely photographs you've shared, the weather sure was glorious.

    All the best Jan
