Hearts and Cake

Once again we are halfway through the month before I realise. I have been keeping quite busy and my month got off to a great start when I went to see my favourite band in concert. It's been years since I went to a such a big event and it was just as thrilling as I remembered.
Thankfully, following some dull days, it is now becoming noticeable that the hours of daylight are gradually increasing. Hurray! for that.
My eyes are telling me Spring is on it's way although I am still reaching for my Winter woollies in a morning. It has been very cold and incredibly windy recently. Yesterday I got quite excited (yes, I know, it doesn't take much) at the thought of hanging out my washing only to change my mind at the prospect of it getting blown off the line. Our walks have been kept at a low level for the same reason.

For the most part I am still cooking from scratch and really relishing my time spent in the kitchen. The bread making is ongoing and I used the same recipe to make some bread rolls which turned out to be just as tasty.
Also in the kitchen this week I baked a delicious Lemon Drizzle cake and today the delicate scent of the Hyacinths on the kitchen windowsill has been overpowered by the amazing aroma of freshly baked Chocolate Orange Brownies. A Valentines treat for me my family.

    I love the sound of chocolate orange brownies, what time do you want me for tea? It really has been spring like weather and higher temperatures for the weekend.

    I think if you had hung your washing out yesterday it would either have blown over to us, or frozen solid. Today would have been a better idea . . . You are funny though, earlier today I saw my rotary drier propped up in a corner of the garden and wondered when I'd be getting it out :)

    Mmmm, chocolate orange brownies and lemon drizzle cake, just the ticket.

    I know what you mean about hanging the laundry out to dry too, looks tempting but only if I want to chase my clothes around the garden!

      It was a bit wild outside. Far nicer to stay indoors eating cake than chase washing around the garden. X

    Chocolate orange brownies sound delicious! I've noticed it's been getting darker later which I'm happy about. We had clear blue skies here today, but really cold winds.

    It is getting lighter which is great as I usually have a late afternoon walk.

    Yum, chocolate orange brownies are Daniel's favourite so it's a while since I've made them now that he's not at home. I'm loving the longer days, it's only recently that I've noticed the mornings becoming a little lighter as well as the evenings.

    I just love your heart garland! Did you crochet it? Lemon drizzle cake sounds yummy! I hope your family enjoyed the Valentine's Day treats you made for them/yourself. :)

    The little crocheted hearts are gorgeous as is Lily in her pink wellies :) Spending time indoors baking sounds perfect, you can't beat the smell of freshly baked bread. The chocolate orange brownies sound pretty good too. I've been making a cherry and almond cake since Sunday but still not got around to it. Maybe tomorrow.       I had to laugh. I was trying to figure out what was atmospheric about hearts, but I'm assuming you mean the tree photograph. I love how the trees silhouette against the sky. X
